Every Day To Remember

This is my first sketch for The Color Room.  I love their sketches and color palettes...can't wait to create a layout.  Here is this week's palette & sketch:

These monochromatic colors are so different from what I normally use...this is why I love The Color Room!  It's a great challenge for me to think outside my "comfort zone" of colors.  Well, here goes....
I decided to create a 5x5 card using The Color Room card sketch:
This card was fun to create!  I used Bazzill's monochromatic scrap pack cardstock for the color palette.  The edges were distressed with my distressing tool and distress inks.  I took some white seam binding ribbon and dyed it with some Glimmer Mist.  The flower is handmade using Prima flowers.  I added Stickles for some sparkle.  For the pearl flourish, I took my Copic marker and colored the white pearls.

Thinking of You

This is a gate fold card I made using the paper collection, flea market {Colorbok}.  To make the gate fold, take a 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 cs and score at  2 1/8 and 6 3/8.  I embossed the birdcage and sentiment with embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang...love their products!! The fabric flower was made with baja breeze seam binding and victoria crochet trim.  I backed it with pearl trim and skeleton leaf. I love the way it turned out...since it's my first time making it.  Here's a close up:
The inside sentiment is a clear sticker from the paper collection, layered with cs that I embossed and used a border punch. Since the pattern paper is one sided, I cut the Spellbinder die twice and adhere them back to back.  That way, you see the pattern paper and not just plain white cs. All the edges were distressed with vintage photo and sprayed with mist from Lindy's.
Supplies~
paper: flea market {Colorbok} ; very vanilla, early espresso cs {SU}
stamp set: card crafting hello {TPC}
dies/punch: label 8 {Spellbinders}; birdcage {CreaTables}; double crochet {EK Success}
ink: vintage photo{TH}
mist/embossing powders: golden pumpkin blush mist, queen sheba silver, kaiser russet red, king midas gold {LSG}
trims: baja breeze, victoria crochet trim {SU}
misc: pink feather, pearl trim, sticker sentiment {flea market collection}, skeleton leaf {I Am Roses}

Manly Cards

I've been busy today making a couple of manly cards.  This first one is for my brother.  He'll be turning 32 in June.  Boy, do I feel old! LOL  This dp is a new line from DCWV and I love it!  It's perfect for making masculine cards and projects.

For the pocket watch chip piece, I used a few glimmer mists and rubbed some Rub 'n Buff.  I ran the numbers through an emboss folder and sanded it for a distressed look.  And I think showing the white brings out the numbers from the background.  Here's a close up:

The second card I made today is for my hubby!  It's our anniversary in a few days....can you guess how many years we've been married?! Would you say we're still newlyweds?!  It still feels like we are.  I am truly blessed to have a wonderful, supportive man who loves me and my crafting obsession!
Again, I used the new paper line, Tattered Time{DCWV}.  Behind the number, I punched out a portion of the design paper with Brenda Walton's seal punch and layered cs using the EK Success sun punch.

Supplies~
paper: {DCWV} Tattered Time & matching cs stack
sentiment: {SU} teeny tiny wishes
distress inks: {TH} walnut stain, tea dye, antique linen
mists: {GM} latte, burnt red, coffee shop; {Glimmer Spritz Vibez} vertigre
punches: {MS} iron gate, crown
dies/embossing: {Verse} charming oval, charming banner; {Cuttlebug's embossing folder} spots & dots
misc: {Tattered Angels} framed fonts-pocket watch; {Rub 'n Buff} patina, grecian gold; {Recollections} half back pearls; {Thickers} tinsel

Time flies when you're having fun!  We made some fun projects this year and I enjoyed getting to know all the ladies.  Check out my friend & Stampin' Up demonstrator, Lisa a.k.a. Mother's Mojo

I love Mother's Day!  I'm not a mom yet, but love celebrating this day.  I'm so thankful to have a wonderful, loving mom and mother in law (aka my other mom).  A shout out to all the moms out there....you are all awesome!!

For this week's Mojo sketch, I made a Mother's Day card.  I used mostly Stampin' Up products.  The inside sentiment is from Imag-e-nation.  I printed the sentiment on card stock and used my Spellbinder's die.
