Sweet Shop Sketch 177~Go Nuts!

I created this card for The Sweet Shop Sketch{aka SSS} Challenge and DT call. Here's the sketch for this week....
And this is my take on the sketch...

I love this die and stamp set!  The sentiments are so adorable and goes perfectly with the acorn die.  I got this mainly because of the birthday sentiments and the cute smiley expressions. Ü
I used mainly scraps left over from older projects..I just wanted to get rid of the loose papers I had on my desk.  This card will go the one of my male cousins, so the colors are more neutral.  I used an embossing plate on the card base.  You can't see the embossing from the first picture, but just slightly from the second.

Supplies~
papers: Today.Tomorrow.Forever
stamp/die set:  acorn die & stamp set{Lil' Inker Design}
tools: texture place collection-frames 1 {Lil' Inker Design}; fishtail flags{MFT}

Viva La Verve! Challenge - week 2

For week 2, I decided to create a card using a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers - Big Buckle Card.  It was fun to make and can't wait to create more using the tutorial!
I added a layer to the tag by stamping the sweet scallop tag stamp and trimming it to fit inside the tag.  I paper pieced the flower{birthday wish stamp} using the same paper stack and adhered each layer with foam tape.  The tag itself is also adhered down with foam tape so the strap can be easily removed and buckled.

Supplies~
pp: s.e.i {Addison}
stamps: Verve {sweet scallop tag stamp, birthday wishes plain jane)
die/punch: Verve{sweet scallop die}; SU{word window punch}
misc: baker's twine{orange}

this was for a dear friend of mine....Happy Birthday R.!  I love Die Cuts With A View pattern paper.  They have come out with some great paper stacks!  This stack is so summery & so cheerful.  It makes you smile. Ü

Manly Cards

I've been busy today making a couple of manly cards.  This first one is for my brother.  He'll be turning 32 in June.  Boy, do I feel old! LOL  This dp is a new line from DCWV and I love it!  It's perfect for making masculine cards and projects.

For the pocket watch chip piece, I used a few glimmer mists and rubbed some Rub 'n Buff.  I ran the numbers through an emboss folder and sanded it for a distressed look.  And I think showing the white brings out the numbers from the background.  Here's a close up:

The second card I made today is for my hubby!  It's our anniversary in a few days....can you guess how many years we've been married?! Would you say we're still newlyweds?!  It still feels like we are.  I am truly blessed to have a wonderful, supportive man who loves me and my crafting obsession!
Again, I used the new paper line, Tattered Time{DCWV}.  Behind the number, I punched out a portion of the design paper with Brenda Walton's seal punch and layered cs using the EK Success sun punch.

Supplies~
paper: {DCWV} Tattered Time & matching cs stack
sentiment: {SU} teeny tiny wishes
distress inks: {TH} walnut stain, tea dye, antique linen
mists: {GM} latte, burnt red, coffee shop; {Glimmer Spritz Vibez} vertigre
punches: {MS} iron gate, crown
dies/embossing: {Verse} charming oval, charming banner; {Cuttlebug's embossing folder} spots & dots
misc: {Tattered Angels} framed fonts-pocket watch; {Rub 'n Buff} patina, grecian gold; {Recollections} half back pearls; {Thickers} tinsel

Mojo Monday 155

This is a birthday card I made for our uncle using this week's sketch:

Details: Each piece of the DP was inked with Vintage Photo and adhered to Bazzill CS.  For the center of the card, I first used the embossing folder and then cut it with the Spellbinder die.  I brushed the distress ink directly unto the embossed area for some color. I also inked around the scalloped edge. On the small tag, I inked the images and inked around the edge with the distress ink.
Supplies~
cs: gray (Bazzill); Very Vanilla (SU)
dp: Elegant Soiree (SU)
ink: Vintage Photo (TH's Distress Ink); black (Stazon)

stamps: PSX
misc: embossing folder (Cuttlebug's Happy Birthday); die (Spellbinder's Lacey Circles); tag (Making Memories); ribbon (unknown ); eyelet (Joann's brand)
