Viva La Verve!-Challenge

This is another Verve sketch challenge I did for week 1.  I thought the sentiment went perfectly with the paper collection.  The yellow card stock is paper pierced along the edge...I can't do this without my TH's ruler.  It's one of my must haves when crafting.  I added some stickles to the sprigs and tied green bakers twine at the bottom.  The center image is outlined with Copics to make it stand out more.  Then adhered with foam tape for extra dimension.
Supplies~
pp: the spring fling{DCWV}
cs: tropicals{American Crafts}
stamp set: Sunny Days{Verve}
dies/punch: leafy sprigs{Verve}; picot edge{Spellbinders}; doily lace{MS}
inks: onyx black{Versafine}; mustard seed{TH}; W9{Copics}
misc: green bakers twine; frosted lace{Stickles}

Viva La Verve! Challenge

This card is for my sweet niece, Inez...her 100th day celebration.  In Korea, we celebrate the 100th day after the baby is born.  Long ago in Korea, many babies did not live past 100 days due to poor living conditions and lack of healthcare.  So when they do reach 100 days, it's a day to celebrate.

I used week 2 sketch challenge from VerveI love this sentiment...it's perfect for the occasion.  For the tag, I used my P-touch label maker to print her name.  Love using these cherry blossoms from I Am Roses.com.
Supplies~
pp: the sweet matstack{DCWV}
stamp: Smallest Things, Plain Jane{Verve}
die: Ornate Artisan tags and accents{Spellbinders}
misc: I Am Roses; jewelry tag{Avery}; winter white seam binding

Viva La Verve! Feb Challenge - Week 4

The last sketch for February, I used the image from My Favorite Things. She's a cutie and I just love coloring her.   I also used a photo inspiration challenge from Stamptacular Sunday. This picture just reminds me of the weather here in So Cal....even in the winter.  Now that spring is upon us, it's time to bring out the spring colors!

For this card, I added a border punch from Martha Stewart.  The cardstock was trimmed down to 12x5 so the corner punched perfectly with the border.  The heart was paper pieced and stamp "Smile" from the stamp set.  I added a handmade stickpin and of course some Prima flowers.
supplies~
pp: Anna Griffin
cs: yellow {Bazzill}
stamps: PI-Love you with All My Heart {MFT}; music notes wheel {SU}
die/punch: standard circle {Spellbinders}; optic dot border {MS}
ink: scattered straw distress
mist: wheatfields {Tattered Angels}
misc: daisy flowers {Prima}; half back pearl; yellow lace trim

Viva La Verve! Feb Challenge - Week 3

I love trying out new techniques or tutorials on Splitcoaststampers.  I've been wanting to try this one called "Free Standing Pop-up Card".  Check out Mary Jo's tutorial here

I think the stamp set "twitterpated" is so adorable.  The little girl is so stinking cute..I just love her big head! I paper pieced her bow and top using the same paper collection.
I added the poppies to the top of the stand to give it some weight.  The flourish is from MFT and the leaves were used to fill in the gaps.
supplies~
pp: Poppy {sei}
stamps: twitterpated, hello {from Verve}
ink: brushed corduroy distress
dies: leaf {MS}; standard circle {Spellbinder}; leafy flourish {MFT}; charming oval {Verve}

Viva La Verve! Feb Challenge - Week 2

I placed a small order with Verve recently and wanted to use one of the stamps for this week's sketch.  I love all their stamps and dies...if I had it my way I would buy them all at once! lol
One of my favorite tool is the corner chomper from We R Memory Keepers...I have it on my desk at all times. haha
On this card, I used the 1/4" corner to the side of the card and the top corners of the layered paper.  Speaking of paper, I decided to dig through my open paper stash and found these.  I bought them at Michael's awhile back.  One of my favorite color combo is pink and black.  I inked all the papers with distress ink.
supplies~
pp: girlfriends - flourish dot, kaleidoscope, paisley{all from TPC Studio}
stamp: birthday phrases {Verve}
ink: black soot distress
die: charming banner {Verve}
misc: black baker's twine, charm, nylon butterfly, black rhinestones, flower {I Am Roses}

The fabric flowers went perfectly with this paper collection...it was the exact same shade!  And I love these babies breath flowers.  Another CAS card this week.
I inked the banner with tattered rose and wrapped it around the stems and tied the twine through to secure it.  This paper collection is an older one from g.c.d.  I had bought this awhile back when it went on clearance at Michael's.

Viva La Verve! Challenge - week 2

For week 2, I decided to create a card using a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers - Big Buckle Card.  It was fun to make and can't wait to create more using the tutorial!
I added a layer to the tag by stamping the sweet scallop tag stamp and trimming it to fit inside the tag.  I paper pieced the flower{birthday wish stamp} using the same paper stack and adhered each layer with foam tape.  The tag itself is also adhered down with foam tape so the strap can be easily removed and buckled.

Supplies~
pp: s.e.i {Addison}
stamps: Verve {sweet scallop tag stamp, birthday wishes plain jane)
die/punch: Verve{sweet scallop die}; SU{word window punch}
misc: baker's twine{orange}
