Christmas Card

Another week of Mojo Monday....this particular card was made using this sketch:
I decided to make a 6x6 card for my Secret Santa at LSH, using the MME pack (Merry days of Christmas).  I inked the inside of the tree with walnut stain and adhered the banner ribbon with the sentiment.  Then added some stamens and a bling flower behind the ribbon.  Around the border, I glued some glass glitter that I got on Etsy (GlitterandKitsch)with gloss accent.

Supplies~
dp: MME 6x6 pack(Merry days of Christmas)
dies/punch: Spellbinders (ribbon banners, 2010 holiday tree, label 9); MFT (fancy flourish); MS (pine border, doily lace)
inks: distress inks (iced spruce, walnut stain)
misc: seam binding, brown glass glitter, glass flower, red stamen

Christmas Tag

I can't believe December is here....the past 11 months just flew by.  Time to bring out the holiday decorations and gather wish lists from the family.  I will be giving some handmade gifts this year....and this tag is for a Secret Santa Swap at A Lil Scrap of Heaven:

I used TH tag die and inked the edges with festive berries(new holiday ink) and brown paint.  The winter white seam binding was dyed with the holiday distress inks (festive berries & iced spruce).  I love these colors!

I pulled the berry spray apart and glued a couple with some stamens.  The border is covered with Stickles.
The bell punches are inked with walnut stain and covered with the liquid applique to look like snow.
The word "joy" is adhered with chipboard to give some dimension and I added rock candy stickles.

Supplies~
dp: MME 6x6 (Holly Jolly)
dies/punches: Sizzix (Christmas Set #3, Tag & bookplates); Memory Box (Frostyville border); Magnolia DooHickeys (poinsettia); MS (bell, ivy & berry)
inks: walnut stain, festive berries, iced spruce
misc: tinsel fibers, brown twine, seam binding, stickles (rock candy, frosted lace), liquid applique, SU jumbo eyelet(antique brass), berry sprays from Michael's

Wedding Card

I combined two challenges to make this six inch card: a sketch{see above} & a color combo challenge-black, white, and a splash of red {The Play Date Cafe}.  The sentiment was first stamped onto white cardstock and then embossed with the embossing folder.  I love the doily flower die...so cute!  I used a similar eyelet border punch for the inside of the card.  Can't wait to give this to my cousin on his wedding day....

TCR #73 - Treasure the moment

Another color palette & sketch at The Color Room....
After digging through my stash of goodies and hours of staring into space...LOL....I did a layout of us at the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA.  I loved viewing the art collections and walking through the botanical gardens.  It is definitely worth going if you've never been.
All the flowers and leaves are from I Am Roses.  The corner chipboard pieces are from Deluxe Designs-I first painted them with green acrylic paint, then crackle medium, and a final coat of white paint.  I did a similar technique with the word "Treasure", but used white paint and picket fence crackle paint. I dabbed alcohol inks on some Thickers to match the color palette.

Supplies~
design papers: Scenic Route Paper Co., Chatterbox
ink: crushed olive
punches/dies: laurel leaf{MS}; large circle set{Spellbinders}; treasure die{Sizzix}
alcohol inks: rust, terracotta
thickers: Daiquiri, Poolside
