Cupid

I wanted to use this cupid stamp I purchased at Michael's for just a buck.  I think he's so cute and love the flourish design.

I combined older pattern paper with some new paper that I bought and came up with this card.  I used Core'dinations (white wash) for the first time.  I love this stack!  I ran it with an embossing folder and sanded it.  So happy with the result!  I wanted cupid to be the focal point so I used a simple pattern.  I used my corner chomper(1/4") and rounded the top corners.  The ribbon banner just peeked out on either side of the circle, so I cut them in half to extend it.

Card Patterns - Sketch 148

Another sketch..another card!  Boy, I'm on a roll! LOL  I have to say that I am having fun with the "31 Day Challenge" ( my previous post).  I'm at the half way mark...I can't wait to show you my journal.  A post will be up in a day or two on what I have done so far.  Now on to the card...
 For this week's Card Pattern sketch, I've done a Love theme that can be used for any occassion.  I didn't use a stamped sentiment for the front of the card, but instead I used the sentiment on the pattern paper.  I am loving the Spellbinder's heart circles!  This was my new purchase at Michael's...and, I got to use my coupon on it.  What a deal!

Supplies~
pp: Echo Park{Yours Truly}
dies/punches: Spellbinders{heart circles, standard circles}; MS{lace heart border}
misc: I Am Roses{white}; Treasure Nest{red}; seam binding; Recollection{pearl flourish}

Thank You

This month I'm sending a lot of "thank you" cards for all the holiday gifts we received....I know that it's a bit late, but I feel that it's better to be late than not sending it at all.  So, here's a card I made using an older pattern paper from my stash and this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

The card is pretty simple-the heart is adhered with foam tape to give it some lift from the button.  I embossed the image with gold embossing powder and used the same image around the sentiment.
other challenges:
The Play Date Cafeburgundy, gold, plum
Sweet Stampin' ~ all that glitters
Catered Crop ~ button
Supplies~
pp: Sandy Lion{Red Damask}; DeNami{Gold}; Bazzill{plum tree}
stamps/inks: SU{fresh vintage, teeny tiny wishes/eggplant eny, baroque burgundy}
dies/punches: MS{vintage floral}; Spellbinders{circle, scallop circle}; McGill{file tab punch}
misc: Recollection{glitter heart}, my stash{button}, embossing powder{honey}

Thinking of You

I made this card for one of my 31 Day Challenge: used something new that I purchased over the holidays-the zig zap sew ribbon punch by We R Memory Keepers.  I had fun using this punch and it's super easy to use! The embossed image is from a 12x12 paper and used my circle die to cut it out as the focal image.

 For the frayed ribbon, I simply trimmed the edges and pulled some fibers off each side.
Challenges:
Mojo Monday ~ sketch #222
Crazy 4 Challenges ~ something new

Supplies~
dp: Pink Paislee{paislee postcards}; Quick Quotes{Oh Lovely}; K & Company{Heritage Ivory Embossed paper}
dies: Spellbinders{large circles, fancy tags}; We R Memory Keepers{zig zag sew ribbon punch}; MS{cornice border punch}
stamp: Verve{sentiment}

misc: bling, ivory satin ribbon

31 Day Challenge

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope you had a memorable Christmas and a happy New Year.  First of all, I want to share my new year's resolution.  Normally, I don't make resolutions for myself because they don't get "resolved".  I get all excited during the first month, but then slowly sizzles away and my resolution is forgotten.  Well, not this time!  I've set a short term goal for the month of January....do something "crafty" every day-whether it's organizing, making a card, or a bigger project.  And Marion's "31 Day Challenge" is perfect to journal my resolution!  Stay tuned for my first week....in the mean time, check out Marion's youtube vid :
