July Mini Page Swap~Girl

Here's my mini page I did for July's Mini Page Swap on Keep on Scrappin.  If you love Graphic 45 ( and who doesn't right?), there's a swap each month so check it out. The collection for the month was Playtimes Past.  I chose to use the design paper, Jack & Jill.

This is the front page
The page size is 4x4, on medium weight chipboard.  I painted the chipboard with acrylic paint, antique white and dry embossed using a border stamp with distressing powder, walnut stain.  The design paper is misted with old lace and while still wet, I curled in the edges.

Closeup pics:
This is a handmade rose using cardstock.  The petals are misted with old lace and added glossy accents to look like rain drops.  I added a doily to the back of the rose. It's dabbed with some Starburst Stains and inked with walnut stain around the edge.
The top rosette was misted with Suede, originally it was ivory. For the red rosette, I adhered Diamond Dust with some Glossy Accent.  I simply curled the green wires around my stylus to give them some interest.

Here's the back page
The page was distress with Vintage Photo along the edge.  The mini envelope is from a punch and made a note card to journal.
The design paper was cut to a longer size so I can fold it over to make a flap.  Here you can add a photo or use to journal.

In the Summertime

Kenny K's challenge for this week is In the Summertime.  Just so happens that I bought this DP from my LS...how funny is that?! LOL
Anyhoo, I chose one of the Glam Gang...Miss Thang. I luv coloring with my copics! I'm below beginner's level, so I've made many mistakes I'm sure.

The sunglasses and flip flops are from the DP-Sqeeze Me from BoBunny.  I adhered Miss Thang with foam tape to give some dimension to the card.
Closeups:
With the frame, I distress inked it with fired brick and age mahogany. Then painted with distress ink crackle paint in rock candy.  I love this paint!!  You have to put a thick layer for large crackle effect.
Here's another shot of the frame
The sun punch is from EK Success.  I stamped the sentiment on DP-Sqeeze Me from BoBunny.

Supplies~
copics: skin (R00,E00,E95) ; hair (YR23, E29, E47); lips (R29); eyes (E47); clothes (G24, G40, G82); shoes (BG10,  BG05,C6, C10)
DP: BoBunny (Sunkissed Party; Sunkissed Sqeeze Me)

June Mini Page Swap

I did a mini page swap, hosted on Keep on Scrappin and here's my page.  She does a mini page swap every month. Each person had to sign up for a different design paper from the collection. This month's paper collection is from Graphic 45, Le Romantique. For my page, I used the design paper My Beloved:

The picture on the left is the front page-I distress inked the edges with vintage photo and antique linen. Then glimmer misted with Wheatfields. I punched out the tags using my Marvy punch and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. The paper for the top tag is part of the My Beloved design paper.  The bottom tag I stamped a background stamp on ivory cardstock and then glue gunned the rose ribbon on top. Back of the tags are stamped for journaling,

I made the pocket by taking a piece of brown cardstock and border punched one side. I weaved an ivory satin ribbon by simply punching holes along the side and then adhered some pearls between the ribbon. This idea I got from Gabrielle on her blog  Such a pretty mess.  She's so awesome!!

The page on the right is the back side of the mini page.  I inked the edge with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and misted with Wheatfields.  I made a corner pocket using the pattern paper-punched the edge with a border punch and inked the sides with Walnut Stain ink.  Then I added some prima flowers on top and embellished the centers.  The middle prima I misted with Irridecent Gold and the rosette with Wild Currant by using a paint brush.  It gives it a dark, intense color. I made the swirl by dotting it with liquid pearl and glued a rhinestone in the center.
Supplies~
paper: dp (Graphic 45-Le Romantique, My Beloved); cs ( brown; Stampin Up-ivory)
stamps: Prima-; Scrappy Cat-; Stampendous-
ink: Stazon-black; Distress Ink-Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
glimmer mist: Irridencent Gold, Wild Currant, Wheatfields
punches: Marvy-tag; Ek Success-deco scallop; Martha Stewart-doily lace
ribbons: Michaels-satin ivory, rosette(bridal); Prima-ribbon lace/pearls
embellies: prima flowers; rhinestone; Martha Stewart-pearls; Liquid Pearls-White Opal; buttons; brads(Lasting Impression-Terra Cotta)

Come back next month to see July's mini page swap...paper from Playtime Past Collection, Graphic 45.  I'll be doing both boy and girl mini page. Can't wait to get started!!

My New Scrap Table

I finally got my new scrap table from Ikea on Sunday!!!  This is what it looks like....the Varde Base Cabinet:
The table is heavier than it looks!  But my goodness, it's so worth the weight and the wait! lol
I've been searching for the perfect table and found this a few weeks ago.  After browsing through the store, it fits what I was searching for.  So, we went home and made sure we have the room for it.  And now, it looks awesome-woohoo!!  We actually use the room as her scraproom/his computer room.  My hubby plays his online computer game, World of Warcraft (aka W.O.W.) while I scrap.  What a great way to spend some quality time, right?! lol
The table comes up to 35 inches tall, 70 inches long, and 25 inches deep.  The table is the perfect height for me because I prefer to create standing up.  Now, I need the right lamp for my table....any suggestions?
I'll post some pictures of my scrap space once I get things organized.
