My First Smash

Hi everyone...hope you're having a great Labor Day!  This weekend has been a relaxing one with my hubby.  And I was able to do some crafting!  Most of what I've created are for my DT challenges...I can't wait to show you.  They will be posted real soon. Ü

My First Smash Book
As many of you know, the latest craze are the Smash Books from K&Company.  I love the idea of just "smashing" it all in.  I can combine my love for scrapbooking and journaling into one book.  I love it!  Another reason why I want to try "smashing" is a Facebook group called Smash*aholics.  After seeing everyone's pages, I just had to join in on the fun!  There's a "30 Day Challenge" on their blog...for all the details, click HERE.  So using my Smash Book, I decided to do this challenge as a way to start smashin'!
And here's the list of challenges for the 30 days.  There's no set time, just go at your own pace....remember, there are NO rules. Ü
This is my first page for the challenge, "all about me"...

I used my scraps and some left over embellishments I had on my desk.  This was a great way to use my scraps....it was time to use up the small strips I couldn't throw away.  I tend to keep even the smallest pieces just in case I needed them....oh boy, I need therapy{rolling my eyes}! LOL  The cute sayings are from a 2x12 pack, "Say it with a Smirk".

Thanks for Smashing with me♥

DT: Stamptacular Sunday~sketch

We have another sketch challenge at Stamptacular Sunday!  Feel free to flip it, rotate it around, or put your own spin....use your creativity!  We would love for you to play along with us!  The sponsor for this week is our very own Priscilla!

Here's my take on this week's sketch...
 For the image, I paper pieced her kimono, lantern, and her headpiece from the paper pad.  The lantern die is perfect for this card...I colored the string with my Copics and left the lanterns white.

Supplies~
paper: Couture paper pad{s.e.i}
stamp: Lantern Rin{Sparkle Creations}
dies: party lanterns{Memory Box}; classic ovals{Spellbinders}

DT: Red Carpet Studio~"Silent" Layout Challenge

Welcome to our first Red Carpet Studio Challenge!  I am super excited to be a part of their first design team.  RCS has two challenge teams-layout design  and card design team.  For more information on the challenges, click HERE.
Scrapbooking is my first love when it comes to paper crafting.  And I can't wait to share my layouts with you throughout the challenges.  My creative mojo is at its highest and has been a fun, crafting journey.  So, let's get started with our first layout challenge:

Here's my layout...
I finally opened my Mariposa paper stack and coordinating chipboard embellishments for this layout.  I love the rich colors and designs in this collection.  I hate to cover up the paper, so I added just a few embellishments around the photo{of me and my niece in Santa Cruz}.  I inked the edge of the papers with walnut distress ink.

I can't wait to see your layout for this week's challenge!

Supplies~
paper: Mariposa paper stack{DCWV}
punch: deco fan{MS}; scallop trim {SU}; fishtail flags{MFT}
misc: skeleton leaves{I Am Roses}; flowers{I Am Roses, Prima, Petaloo}; diamond rhinestone & pearl flourish{Recollections}
