This week's sponsor is Birdie Brown
prize: winner's choice of 3 digis

For my card, I created a twisted easel card.  For the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers, click HERE.  I was able to use some scraps for inside layer of the card.  My scraps are slowing getting smaller...which means more room for more scrap goodies!  This image is a cutie pie and I just love her big head! LOL

Red Carpet Blog Hop~ABC Random

Welcome to the ABC Ransom Blog Hop,
hosted by Red Carpet Studio!

If you've come from Stacy's blog, you're in the right place.

The Red Carpet Studio designers thought it would be fun to host a mystery blog hop while showcasing projects that can be made using all those leftover letters in your stash - hence where the "ransom" comes in. Ransom notes play a huge role in mystery/suspense films, and are often created out of random letters cut from magazines, newspapers, etc. in order to disguise handwriting.

While we won't be doing any kidnapping or holding anybody ransom today - we do have some creative projects to share with you!

For my project using leftover letters in my stash, I created...
The pictures are of me with my cousins and our hubbies at a wedding rehearsal.  The wedding was for their brother and his beautiful fiancé.  For my layout, I used the paper stack, Ella Blue from g.c.d.  I love that the papers are double-sided and the patterns are gorgeous.  The papers were edged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I used my left over letters for everyone's first initials and layered them with a Fiskar's punch, blue ribbon.

The center of the plaque was filled with diamond dust and glossy accent.  I wanted to add lots of texture to this layout....like using these gray velvet alphabets Thickers for the name of the wedding location.

The hanging plaque was inked with Vintage Photo distress ink and layered with crackle accent.  I love the "cracked" texture and the look it gives.  Then added some half back pearls to dress up the flourish.
I gathered some lace trim from my stash with some flowers from I Am Roses. Also took some twine and weaved it around the doily heart.  I love using my Dymo Label Maker....for the date of the rehearsal and for the event{top photo}.
We're also holding some blog candy ransom! However, the blog candy is hidden, and only certain stops of the hop are hiding it. The only way you can win is if you comment on those blogs! Now, we're not going to tell you whose blogs those are (that would be too easy) but we will tell you what the prizes are!

There will be three winners. Please make sure to leave your contact information when commenting so we can contact you if you win. You have until next Saturday, November 3rd, to hop and comment. Winners will be announced with the start of our next layout challenge on Sunday November 4th at Red Carpet Studio.

And don't forget to check out this week's challenge at Red Carpet Studio! Our challenge this week is inspired by "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and the challenge is to create any fall or Halloween card.

Your next stop is Robin's blog.

P.S. My letter is... S

If you can put all the letters together from each stop of the hop (they're in order), you have a chance to win a mystery prize! Once you've figured out our hidden message, email it to redcarpetstudiochallenge@gmail.com. The mystery prize winner will be announced with the other winners on Sunday November 4th. HINT: The message is a clue as to what our next layout challenge will be. :)

Hi everyone!  Just a few days left before Halloween....I have another card to share using this week's sketch from Unscripted Sketches.  Here's the sketch....
Hope you'll play along...this is another sketch with so many possibilities.  For my card, I inked the edges with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  The "Trick or Treat" is adhered with foam tape for dimension.  I used a new die from Lil' Inker Designs called, Stitched Mats for the bottom layer.  You can't see the stitching in the picture, but I love this added detail.

images: chick or treat, simple halloween{Stampendous}; trick or treat{Hero Arts}; Charlotte{A Muse Artstamps}
